One of the online motorcycle taxi drivers, Sardi (55) said that the traffic jam on Jalan Gatot Subroto was getting worse before entering the month of Ramadan. According to him, the current speed of vehicles is much slower than the day before fasting.
“Yes, it’s just like this, until 09.30 WIB it’s still jammed like this, it’s getting worse. It’s getting worse like this, the road doesn’t run smoothly for a long time, if you usually walk a little bit,” said Sardi.
Sardi complained about traffic jams on Jl Gatot Subroto. He admits that his orders are often canceled by customers because he takes a long time to pick up due to traffic jams.
“It’s very troublesome, the customer waits a long time, which can end up being cancelled. It’s often cancelled, because of traffic jams, they wait too long,” he said.
Another online motorcycle taxi driver, Andurahman (54) expressed the same complaint. He said his orders were also often canceled due to traffic jams.
“It’s no longer a hassle, it’s detrimental to everything. Because we can’t keep track of time, we should have now, in one hour we’ve got two or three customers, now just one is still not right,” Abdurahman said.
“Many have been cancelled, there have been too many cancellations, let alone our customers who have driven themselves too, the pick-up is far away, it gets stuck, so we cancel,” he added.
Abdurahman said the congestion on Jalan Gatot Subroto was also getting worse compared to before the month of Ramadan. He admits that he is bored with Jakarta’s traffic jams that are not decreasing.
“It’s worse now, it’s stagnant, it’s rush hour at this time,” he said.
