Journalist Diaa Rashwan, General Coordinator, spoke Board of Trustees of the National DialogueOn the importance of the proposal to continue full judicial supervision of elections and referendums, which is scheduled to end on January 17, 2024, he said: We have a complete consensus among all the forces and parties participating in the dialogue on this proposal.
Diaa Rashwan added, during a telephone interview on Extra News channel, that this proposal is the only one that receives consensus from everyone, especially since its text is not a complicated text.
Diaa Rashwan explained that the Board of Trustees represents in itself the various spectrums of the political situation in Egypt, and therefore its powers allow it and permit it to propose some issues and submit them to the President of the Republic as long as they have general consensus, explaining that the national dialogue proceeds in the same approach as the political life in all its spectrums, with continued supervision. The judiciary, which reassures Egyptians that they have free and fair elections in front of everyone.
And about choosing May 3 to start the sessions, Diaa Rashwan said, We have the month of Ramadan, then Easter, Sinai Liberation Day, Eid al-Fitr and Workers’ Day during the month of April, and therefore we chose May 3, which is suitable for everyone. Until this date, we will continue to receive proposals and receive new names that want to join the national dialogue. Diaa Rashwan pointed out that the Board of Trustees continues to convene permanently, and during the few days we have another session and another one after it to finish all the procedures related to the dialogue schedule, sessions and dates under the eyes and eyes of the public, and we will announce it in its details, and nearly a year has passed and we have not stopped this dialogue.
He emphasized that it was agreed with all the parties in the dialogue on May 3 and preparations were made to bring this day out in a way that befits President Sisi’s invitation to this dialogue and that the Egyptians are waiting for the outcome of this dialogue so that the message reaches everyone that the dialogue is serious and will be public and direct, so no one fabricates the dialogue nor is it artificial, explaining that all Those involved in the dialogue are keen to create a positive atmosphere.
