End-to-end encrypted short video messages
The world’s most popular messaging application, WhatsApp, is still racing against time to prevent its new competitors from reaching the hearts of users.
In the new updates, the instant messaging application is testing a new feature that enables iPhone users to exchange short video messages, which will be end-to-end encrypted to ensure privacy, according to WABetaInfo.
And the new feature works in the same way as voice messages, as the expected update of the application will allow the camera icon next to the microphone icon to capture a visual message.
It is also expected that the duration of the messages will be 60 seconds only.
Users will not be able to save or forward video messages to other chats.
And the application will keep the feature of taking screenshots, as the characteristics of the new feature were monitored in the beta version 73.0.6.23.
It is noteworthy that “WhatsApp” has become indispensable in daily life, as it is one of the most common and popular messaging applications around the world, with more than two billion users.
The green app is also scheduled to start rolling out new features globally in the coming weeks.
