Casablanca: inauguration of the new production line of Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle
The new production line of the Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle, specializing in the production of chocolates and confectionery, was inaugurated on Friday in Casablanca, marking a turning point in the fabulous history of this industrial jewel.
With an investment of 75 million dirhams (MDH), this new production line, inaugurated in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, provides the company with an additional production capacity of 20 tons per day. and allows the creation of 120 jobs.
Economical in terms of energy consumption, this new line, equipped with a dosing capacity that exceeds 99%, will double the tablet molding capacity to an additional 4,000 tonnes.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Mezzour stressed the importance of the biscuits, chocolates and confectionery sector in the national economy, recalling that this line of latest technology will allow the Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle to produce the best chocolate. of Morocco, to international standards.
“We are proud today to see the birth of this new unit within this historic Moroccan company. This investment confirms the strong dynamics of the sector but above all the adhesion of our manufacturers to the import substitution strategy through more local production. This project, involving an investment of more than 75 million dirhams, will allow the company to move upmarket and position itself more in the upper stratum of chocolate makers on a national and international scale,” he said. said. And to add that the sector of biscuits, chocolates and confectionery is experiencing great momentum, since today the bank of projects has 35 projects to create 5,400 direct job opportunities.
For his part, Mr. Amine Berrada Sounni, CEO of Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle said that this new production line is the latest generation of chocolate, chocolate sugar, tablet and bar molding machine, as well as the first acquisition in Africa and the eighth in the world.
“It is, by far, the best rendering of the finished chocolate product, on the basis of recognized criteria, such as shine, dispersion, filling or even inclusion”, specified Mr. Berrada Sounni, affirming that this investment supports a whole system put in place by the Omnipar group and its subsidiaries, to raise the “Made in Morocco”, promoted by the supervisory ministry, to the highest international standards.
In addition, Mr. Berrada Sounni reiterated his commitment to put the Moroccan product more forward, to encourage national professional consumption, as well as to develop the trades of pastry and chocolate.
And to specify that the Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle will further accelerate the support programs and training materials, intended for both initiated amateurs and professionals, through digital and face-to-face, with world-renowned chefs. , in addition to regional master-classes.
A subsidiary of the Omnipar Group, Compagnie Chérifienne de Chocolaterie-Aiguebelle has been established in Morocco since 1942 and employs 520 people. Through its exports to 15 countries in Africa and the Middle East, it confirms, thanks to this investment, its vocation for a competitive “Made in Morocco” product with high added value.
