According to the latest National Survey of Financial Inclusion (ENIF), 79% of the Mexican population between the ages of 18 and 70 use cash for payments greater than 501 pesos; In addition, the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) shows that 53% of adults in the country do not have a bank account.
Requirements
In order to use Koin in Despegar, you must follow the following steps:
● Once the tourist service has been chosen (hotels, flights or packages), the option to pay with Koin appears in the payment process.
● Then name, CURP and PIN code are requested to validate your phone and perform a real-time analysis that determines whether or not the credit is approved and what term is granted.
● In real time, a response is given and it appears that the payment was made and the reservation made.
● In the event that a person does not have a credit history, other variables are used for approval and thus they can begin to build one with Koin.
● Once the transaction is confirmed, the traveler is informed of the various options he has to make the payment of the monthly installments, which can be through bank transfer or deposits.
For now, this alternative is only available on the Despegar website, but it will soon be coming to the mobile app.
The credits are reported in the credit history of the person, therefore, those who are late or refuse to pay, will generate a bad credit reputation and, therefore, will not be creditors of future credits.
CLARIFICATION: In a first version of this note, it was incorrectly indicated that the payments could be without interest. The correct fact is that they can be paid in months, but with interest.
