ver.di: Increase the pressure again for the third round of negotiations
“We want a solution in the third round of negotiations,” emphasizes Stephanie Peifer, Managing Director of the ver.di district of Düssel-Rhein-Wupper. “But the signals from the employers’ side so far show that they have not yet understood the seriousness of the situation!” Ver.di is therefore calling the employees of Rheinbahn AG, WSW mobil, Stadtwerke Solingen Verkehr, Stadtwerke Remscheid Verkehr, Bahnen der Stadt Monheim and the Regiobahn (RE 47 and S28) went on strike all day at the beginning of the third round of negotiations on March 27. The employees of the Düsseldorf Airport Group are also invited. The strikes at the airport also affect aviation security employees, who are also involved in a nationwide wage dispute.
“Unfortunately, the present offer from the public employers does not allow any other answer, because it is disrespectful and thus fuels the collective bargaining conflict. The dissatisfaction of the employees is enormous and the willingness to go on strike is increasing from day to day. In the third round of negotiations, the employer side has the opportunity to prevent long-term strike measures by making an offer that can be agreed,” said Peifer.
