Julian Nagelsmann’s year-and-a-half spell at Bayern Munich has come to an end. This Friday, the German coach was fired and hands over to Thomas Tuchel.
Through the official page, the Bavarians explained, in the words of Oliver Kahn, CEO of the club, the reasons that led to this decision at a decisive time of the season.
«When we hired Julian, in 2021, we were convinced that it would be a long-term project. It was everyone’s objective, but we came to the conclusion that the quality, despite having been champions last season, was getting smaller and smaller. After the World Cup we played worse and worse and in an unattractive way. The team’s exhibitional inconstancy jeopardized our goals for the season and that’s why we reacted. Personally, and on behalf of Bayern, we wish Julian and the technical team the best for the future », said the former goalkeeper and current manager of the ten-time champion of Germany.
