The CIA satellite’s assistance was acknowledged by the unit’s commander, who also uses the name Thor, to The Times.

This special forces group has 27 members. They are officially a police special operations unit that functions independently of the Ukrainian Army and cooperates closely with the country’s military intelligence, GUR, which provides them with ammunition and intelligence.

Thor claims he used a special app on a tablet that synced to a CIA satellite to select potential targets for his group’s attacks.

“We select targets within the program, and targets can be placed there by either CIA satellites or our own satellites, which are paid for by our volunteers. Information is gathered from all kinds of sources there. We choose, then we arrive and do our own reconnaissance,” said Thor.

Another member of the special forces, Aleksander (30), told The Times that Thor also purposely uses drone to injure—rather than kill—Russian soldiers.

“This one is for wounding [tentara] Russia,” he said to The Times when he arms drone 3D printing with mining explosives.
