From Software is not only working on the Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, but the developers are also polishing the graphics. A new update has been released that adds ray tracing support available to players on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Ray tracing mode offers ambient occlusion and shadows, and not any enhanced reflections. Activation of ray tracing is accessed via the graphics settings in the game and on PC it is possible to choose between several different modes, depending on how much lighting effects you want or your computer can handle. On console it’s more binary and you can either run with or without, and if you choose to activate ray tracing you have to be aware of a performance drop.
With ray tracing, of course, higher demands are placed on the computers. The developers have updated the spec requirements which are relatively kind for players who want to play in 1080p resolution.
Minimum: 1080p, Low quality, Low ray tracing |
Rekommenderat: 1080p,High quality, High ray tracing |

In addition to richer lighting, the update offers a number of other improvements. Primarily it’s about bug fixes as well as weapon and ability balancing, which largely affects the PVP-focused Colosseum add-on. The full list of changes can be found at the developers’ website.
