Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik will perform together again. The duo broke up in 2015, but the singers still missed each other. Acda and De Munnik have entered the studio again and will give a show in the Ziggo Dome on October 28.
“Thomas and I have always kept in touch, but in recent years we have started to miss the friendship,” says De Munnik. “We met up more often and in September on Ameland we met David Middelhoff to find out if it was fun to make music again.”
According to Acda, the chemistry was soon back. “We had fun, the songs came naturally and we decided it was time for a reunion in a place where we have not played before. We are very much looking forward to taking our old repertoire off the shelf on October 28 and introducing new bring music.”
The singers, known for hits like It’s Raining Sunbeams in Not Or Never Been, met in 1988. They then made theater performances and music. Their records were awarded Edisons and the Gold and Silver Harp. In 2015, they decided to split up. Especially De Munnik “was tired of touring”.
Acda and De Munnik have occasionally appeared on stage together in recent years. They made the song together with Maan and Typhoon When I See You Again. The singers were also part of the occasional formation The Streamers.
