Egypt Acquires Three Long-Range Launch Boats from America via the “Cyclone” Model – Sky News Arabia

Today, Wednesday, the Egyptian Navy received 3 “Cyclone” long-traffic launchers from the US Navy.

The Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces, Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, the Commander of the Naval Forces of the US Central Command, and the Commander of the Fifth Fleet, Lieutenant General Brad Cooper, signed a document of delivery and received the launch from the American side, followed by raising the Egyptian flag on the traffic launches, marking their entry into service with the Egyptian Navy.

The Egyptian military spokesman said on his official Facebook page: “The long-traffic ships of the “Cyclone” model are among the most advanced units in the US Navy, as they are a new addition to our naval forces.”

Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa delivered a speech during which he conveyed the greetings of Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, to the audience from the Egyptian and American sides.

He pointed out the armed forces’ keenness to support the capabilities of the Egyptian naval fleet to enhance security and stability in the areas of operation of the naval forces, explaining that the receipt of these units confirms the relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States.
