The initiative La Barraca de Cine, promoted by the association of women filmmakers CIMA to bring Spanish cinema closer to smaller towns, will start its annual tour in Talamanca del Jarama (Madrid) next Saturday with the screening of “Mamá no enRedes”, Directed by Daniela Fejerman.
This title also begins a cycle, “The voice of the filmmakers”, which will include other recent films directed by women such as “Cinco lobitos”, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, one of the winners of past Goyas, “Cerdita” by Carlota Pereda or “Chavalas” by Carol Rodríguez Colás.
La Barraca de Cine is a mobile itinerant cinema space that seeks to bring cinema closer to sectors with limited access to culture and the audiovisual world.
The 2023 tour so far has attached municipalities from the Community of Madrid, Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha and Andalusia, according to a statement released this Tuesday.
The objective is to “bring cinema closer to emptied Spain and energize the cultural offer included in the rural territorial policies of all corners of Spain”.
After the screenings, which will be accessible with subtitles and audio description, there will be a meeting with the film teams. In the case of “Mamá no enRedes”, this Saturday in Talamanca del Jarama, Daniela Fejerman, director of the film, and Cristina Andreu, president of CIMA, will participate in the colloquium.
