Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) – The mayor and deputy of the municipality of Nouadhibou, Kacem Ould Bilali, withdrew his candidacy through the ruling Insaf Party, more than 48 hours after the party announced its lists of candidates, as Ould Bilal appeared in it as a candidate for the position of mayor of the city.

Weld Bilali said in an audio recording, apparently sent to one of his close associates, and it was widely circulated, that he did not withdraw from the Insaf Party because he did not join it in the first place, but that there were negotiations between them and they ended.

Ould Bilal confirmed that he would run through the Dignity Party, the party that won the position of Mayor of the Municipality of Nouadhibou and its parliamentary deputy during the 2018 elections.

During the past few days, Ould Bilali held meetings with a number of leaders of the ruling party, and one of them was with the head of the party, Muhammad Ma al-Aynin, Ould Ayeh.
