The opening concert of the “Windstream” festival was dominated by spring swing, jazz and Latin intonations. Orchestra “Riga” big band led by Roberta Martini played dance and ballroom dance music of the second half of the last century in jazz rhythms.
The bright sound of the big band was complemented by the dancers of the tap group “Soul Tap” at the concert. On the other hand, Egija Abaroviča and Reinis Rešetins showed the classical ballroom, ballroom and sports dance steps to the VEF Culture Palace stage.
The dance and big band performance was enhanced by the voice of singer Daumantas Kalniņas. His cooperation with the big band will also continue at other concerts of the “Windstream” festival.
The spring festival program will end on the Second Easter with an event dedicated to families “Easter Hand Polka with Orchestra “Rīga”” in the Palace of Culture “Ziemeļblāzma”. Academic music opuses will also be performed in the festival program.
