The Song and Dance Ensemble “Lublin” was founded in 1948 on the initiative of Wanda Kaniorowa. It is one of the oldest and largest folklore groups in Poland. Over the course of 75 years of existence, the band has performed at over 7,400 concerts and made 234 trips abroad. The artists presented their artistic skills on almost all continents of the world and achieved a number of successes at international folk festivals. The group’s rich repertoire includes dances, songs and melodies from almost all regions of Poland.
This year’s celebration of “Kaniorowcem” is also part of the time when Lublin received the prestigious title of the European Youth Capital. As part of the ESM, this weekend, March 25 and 26, at 17 in the UP Congress Center, there will be two “Spring Concerts”.
As many as 12 dance groups accompanied by the Representative Band will appear on the stage. The audience will be able to enjoy dances, songs and folk melodies from many
regions of Poland. The repertoire of concerts will include dances from Lublin, Rzeszów, Nowy Sącz, Kashubian, Orava, Opoczno, Kuyavian and Polish national dances
– “Spring Concerts” is a colorful feast of dance, music, singing and beautiful costumes. Performances seasoned with temperament, joy and smiles of dancing “Kaniorowcem” will be a great opportunity to discover and learn about Polish folklore – encourage the organizers of the event.
