The attack appears to have hit the headquarters of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although Vladimir Rogov said the attack may have also targeted air defense units also stationed in Volnyansk.
“According to preliminary information, the explosion, which was heard by the residents of Zaporizhia, was in Volnyansk, the nearest suburb of the regional center. It is in this small town that the command post of the 128th mountain-assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the air defense unit of the Zelensky regime,” Rogov wrote on the network.
According to local residents, the explosion was quite strong and almost immediately after it an air raid warning was announced in the Zaporozhye region, news agencies inform.
So far, there are no official statements from Kiev regarding the explosion in Volnyansk, but it should be noted that it was the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade that took part in the latest counterattacks of the Ukrainian army in the Pologovsky District of the Zaporozhye Region.
