Pancho Varona became the right hand of Joaquín Sabina, both personally and professionally. However, the relationship between these two great friends broke down as a result of the artist from Jaén left him out of his last tour, Against all odds, after four decades together on stage. The singer from Úbeda used a brief email to put an end to this relationship, according to what the musician has said in several interviews.

Varona assures that she still does not know what happened to her with Sabina, and therefore, has repeatedly attempted to narrow to know the version of the composer from Úbeda. “I don’t quite know what happened. I don’t know what the real cause is that I’m not on that tour. The email that Joaquin sends me doesn’t really explain a farewell. “I spent last year sending messages to whoever is with him, because he doesn’t have WhatsApp or anything, but I couldn’t go see him. ‘Send us an email’, was what they told me, ”he adds. After receiving the famous response with which she terminated her professional relationship with the man from Jaén, Varona is still waiting today for an explanation with solid arguments. “I’m still waiting for an explanation. It’s not that they owe me, I just want to know what happened”.
Despite everything, the musician from Madrid reveals that he still dreams of Sabina because she is a person who has shared more moments than with his own father. “Every day. And I dream a lot with Joaquín. A lot. Weird things. In other words, dreams are rare per se, they are always crazy. But I dream a lot about Joaquín. Not now at this time, I have always dreamed a lot about Joaquín. Never a certain concert, but something that we are in a strange place and what do I know, nothing special. It is very present in my life, very present”.
