With a 3-2 win at FC Ingolstadt, Dynamo Dresden climbed into a direct promotion spot for the first time this season. It was the first three at the FCI on the ninth attempt – and what an important one!
At the end of the English week, coach Markus Anfang rotates properly, bringing four new players in Park, Becker, Lemmer and Will compared to the last starting eleven against Duisburg (2-0).
The second best team from the second half of the season (20 points) was a guest of the worst (4 points) – the role of favorites was clearly divided. Even if Beginning didn’t want to know anything about it: “We don’t think about it. We want to end the English week with a win.”
First, however, his FCI colleague and Dynamo predecessor Guerino Capretti was able to celebrate: Ingolstadt’s Linsmayer shot from the edge of the penalty area too unsecured to make it 1-0 (5th). Early shock for the guests.
But Dynamo Dresden had the right answer and promptly hit back: Will volleyed from 24 meters after a Lemmer cross and the ball hit the ball to make it 1-1 (10′).
After that, a brisk game developed. Ingolstadt played along cheerfully, there was no sign of uncertainty.
But just before the break, SGD showed why they are now one of the top teams in the league: after a wonderful preparation by Conteh and carriage Arslan circled the ball from 16 yards out with pinpoint accuracy into the bottom right corner (40′). The 2:1 lead is an absolute dream goal. And already the 16th goal of the season for Dresden’s top executor!

The bell almost rang again in the FCI box before the half-time whistle, but the extremely strong Conteh hammered the ball against the post from the inside right (45+2).
Dynamo sports director Ralf Becker during the break at Magenta Sport: “We got into the game with difficulty, but it got better in the course of the first half. The opening goal was played beautifully, the lead is deserved.”
And Arslan hadn’t had enough. The first action after the change of sides belonged to Kiel on loan again, but this time Ingolstadt keeper Funk was able to scratch his beam out of the corner (53rd). Four minutes later, Arslan’s side kick received a 10.0, but again Funk was the winner.
But then Lemmer does it! The striker was sent wonderfully long, rounded the keeper and scored from a tight angle to make it 3-1 (59th).
Dynamo Dresden with usury of chances
The decision? nope! This time the FCI had a quick answer ready, Nduka headed in immediately after a corner (61′).
Next excitement again on the other side: Hauptmann was cleared twice in the penalty area, but the referee Badstübner didn’t whistle (76th). At least debatable.
Dresden repeatedly with the decision on foot and head, left (too) many chances. It didn’t pay off in the end. Also because Ingolstadt’s Sulejmani was sent off after a foul and formation of a pack with a yellow/red card (81′).
So nothing burned until the final whistle. And the 2,000 Dynamo fans among the 6,300 spectators in the Audi Sportpark were able to celebrate the 12th game in a row without a defeat with the team.
