World Social Work Day is celebrated on March 21 and on this occasion the motto is “Respecting diversity through joint social action”.
This theme, as explained by the General Council of Social Work, refers to “the shared work in the joint development of the Letter of the peoples for a New Ecosocial World, which recognizes that change happens locally through diverse communities of leaders. That is, this 2023 they want to give recognition “to those communities that carry out powerful actions that lead to inclusive social transformation and the role of social work in working with communities on this journey.”
And it is that, in such a changing, globalized and individualized world, social workers, with the intervention tools they have for this, use active listening in order to empathize in an effective and humane way to try to help the patients to overcome complex situations. Thus, knowing first-hand the social reality, they are promoters of change, of social intervention and of the guarantee of the social rights of citizens.
That is why Mutua Universal joins and celebrates the importance of this day and the professionals who make it possible.
