Several interested parties have submitted bids for Manchester United in recent weeks. They also include British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe (70), who even had the honor of meeting Erik ten Hag (53) on Friday.

Ratcliffe chatted with ten Hag at the Carrington training ground. The United boss later confirmed that there was a meeting. However, the coach did not want to get involved in a discussion about the new club owners.

“My job right now is to focus on the game, so let’s talk about the game, it’s a big deal and we have to prepare for it,” ten Hag told reporters. The Red Devils met Fulham FC in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday (3-1).

Manchester United could be taken over by Qatar

A day before Ratcliffe’s meeting with Erik ten Hag, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani (44) arrived at United’s club ground. The former heir to the Qatari throne also wants to take over the traditional club.

According to reports, the Arabs have already made an initial offer of around 5.6 billion euros. In betting with Ratcliffe and other interested parties, however, they could increase their original offer again.

Ratcliffe would then probably call it quits. The entrepreneur failed only last year when trying to acquire Chelsea FC. At that time, Ratcliffe offered almost five billion euros for the Blues and ultimately had to admit defeat to the American Todd Boehly.
