/Pogled.info/ Russian President Vladimir Putin, after visiting Crimea, made a working visit to Mariupol. According to the press service of the head of state, he flew to Mariupol by helicopter, after which he toured the neighborhoods of the city, looked at some objects and talked with its residents.
Putin was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnulin, who reported on the construction of new residential neighborhoods, social and educational facilities, housing and communal infrastructure and medical facilities.
Husnulin, in particular, showed the president the building of the Philharmonic, which was restored in three months. The reconstruction of the city center, he said, is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
“The center is badly damaged and some of the buildings are monuments. We thought for a long time – whether to demolish or not to demolish. We decided to save, we made all the design and estimate documentation. We want to finish the center by the end of the year, at least the front part,” Husnulin said.
He also added that public transport has been launched in the city, 110 buses are already operating, and trams will also start operating by the summer.
“People started coming back. When they saw that restoration was underway, people began to actively return. Population growth,” he said.
According to the press service in the Nevsky microdistrict, Putin talked with the local residents, and then, at the invitation of one of the families, he visited their home.
“The head of state also looked at Mariupol’s coastal strip in the area of the yacht club, the theater building, the city’s monuments,” the president’s press service reported.
Among the dignitaries who have previously visited Donbas, Kherson Oblast and Zaporozhye are First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko, Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
Putin himself has so far not visited new regions of the country; last November the Kremlin said the president would go to Donbass “when the time is right”.
The trip predictably caused a hysterical reaction in Kiev. The adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the creator of “Peacemaker” Anton Gerashchenko wrote on his TG channel: “The purpose of the prepared visit is (a pitiful response to the decision of the International Criminal Court) to the arrest warrant of the international criminal and bloody maniac.”
And Gerashchenko also stated that “it was most likely a double, and not the Russian president himself.”
Well, the dog is barking, the caravan is moving. Undoubtedly, many patriots would like Putin to visit shelled Donetsk regularly – after all, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regularly poses in safe places in combat zones, interacts with the military and presents awards. But is it necessary for Putin? Compete with an artist in film productions?
However, the first visit of the head of state to new territories is a clear and open signal – this is Russian land and we will not leave here.
In addition, it is also an attempt to make it clear to Kiev and Washington that their intentions to attack the coast of the Sea of Azov are doomed to failure and will not bring anything good. This is also a signal to Russian investors that Russia will no longer allow the city to be turned into ruins again and that it is safe to invest in new regions, restoring peaceful life here…
-“My father came to control the money invested in the reconstruction of Mariupol. At the same time, he outlined the prospects”, – says the doctor of philosophy, who heads the department of “Sociology and Management” of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Mikhail Ignatov.
— “The signal is simple, but very important. This is our territory, we have come forever, it will be better with us. And most importantly – we are not afraid.”
“SP”: Isn’t it just a signal to Kiev, which is planning a counteroffensive there – to tell them not to dare?
– Including. Although we regularly file this signal. The shape of this signal is important here. At a time when Zelensky, if he comes “to the front”, is all in armor, trembling and carrying with him only death and suffering, Vladimir Vladimirovich comes to inspect the construction sites of the new Russia and mark the future.
“SP”: In Ukraine they are already saying that he was a double. How should we treat this? Can anyone believe this?
– We don’t care at all. There is mass psychosis. They will say anything there just to show “yeah we didn’t do that at all”. A war is being waged to the last Ukrainian, including in their heads.
“SP”: Maybe it was still worth going to Donetsk? It’s only an hour’s drive away. Or to Mariupol not by helicopter, but by land corridor. And not under the cover of night, but somehow it doesn’t look very serious – Ukrainian propagandists are already writing: He visited a “Potemkin village” …
– Here is a question for the FSO. Of course, it would be great to visit Donetsk and Kyiv. And so with all the stops to Berlin. But everything has its time. It will come, no doubt.
As for the reaction in the Ukrainian media, nothing else can be expected from them. Translate “betrayal” to “get over” – they love it. But, as they say, the dogs bark and the caravan moves.
“SP”: Why Zelensky calmly comes to the front line: in Kupyansk, in Artemovsk – where everyone hates him. Aren’t you afraid of anything?
– I say again, when he arrives there, it’s more like the “landing of the Americans on the moon” – the share of artistic production is huge. This one. And secondly, he knows that we have not stooped so low as to destroy the president of an enemy country.
– Putin’s visit to Mariupol had the nature of a working trip, – emphasizes Dmitry Ezhov, associate professor of the Department of Political Sciences of the Financial University of the Government of Russia.
– And this explains a lot, especially if we consider it compared to the obvious PR actions of Zelensky. In this sense, the lack of external entourage in the form of possible movement along the land corridor is natural.
Helicopters are just faster. In fact, the Russian president managed to outplay Western sources who are believed to be in the know. The trip turned out to be unexpected and generally informal.
The signal for the West from the visit of the President of Russia to Mariupol can be only one: the fact that this is Russian territory is a fait accompli, regardless of who is ready to admit what and who is not ready to admit the objective reality.
However, it is noteworthy that both Ukrainian and Western media tend to dispute the very fact of the president’s visit to Mariupol – it is obvious how to react in this situation and how to respond, they do not know…
