Hoa Binh (VNA) – Tiên Ngân Investment and Trade Sarl and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh Province (North) organized a ceremony on March 19 marking the export of the first batch 20 tonnes of fresh sugar cane to the United States.
Sugar cane for export is purchased in Tân My commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province.
In his speech, Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dinh Cong Su said the province will seek ways to boost sugar cane exports, thereby contributing to the development of the provincial sugar industry.
This lot is the result of more than four months of negotiations between Sarl Tiên Ngân and an American partner. The company plans to ship between 300 and 500 tons of fresh sugar cane this year, according to its director Nguyên Lê Diêp.
Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyên Huy Nhuân, said sugar cane can bring high economic value and has huge potential for export expansion.
The Service will create the best conditions for local businesses to seek market in the coming times. The province exported fresh sugarcane to Japan for the first time in 2020 with 5.7 tons and the volume increased to 300 tons in 2022, with orders from demanding markets such as the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom United and the European Union (EU). -VNA
