Blizzard Notes Major Diablo 4 Beta Glitches and Technical Issues Undergoing Fixes

Blizzard has shared a list of key issues, including bugs and crashes, in the Diablo 4 early access beta that you are currently tracking and working to resolve. With Diablo 4 scheduled to release in early June, Diablo fans probably expected this early March beta to have its issues. That has certainly proven to be true, as Diablo 4 beta players experience long wait times, random disconnections, and hardware performance issues. Blizzard is seizing the opportunity to improve Diablo 4 as quickly as possible.

Blizzard is running two beta sessions ahead of the release of Diablo 4 in June. There’s the ongoing Diablo 4 early access beta, which will last until the current weekend, and then an open beta that will start on March 24 and last until that weekend. As exciting as it is to be able to test Diablo 4 months before the game’s release, it’s clear that Blizzard’s intention with the betas is to test the game in a real-world environment. You’ll be able to take what you learn from the beta builds and apply fixes to the full release of Diablo 4.

In a list posted on Blizzard’s Diablo 4 forums, the studio shared four key issues it is aware of and working on. These issues are in addition to Diablo 4’s queuing issues. The first issue is that players are unable to join a party while in-game. The second problem is that players are offline and told that their party doesn’t exist. The third problem is the use of elastic bands or blocking during the transition between areas. The fourth issue is high RAM and GPU usage on select hardware.

To be clear, these are issues that Blizzard is actively working on, according to their forum post. It’s not just about taking notes and dealing with these issues before launch. It’s unclear if Blizzard can resolve these while Diablo 4’s early access beta is ongoing or before the open beta next weekend. But Blizzard is at least trying to fix them or make them less pronounced.

Diablo 4 players have shared positive news about the beta wait times, now that the second day of the beta has started. Wait times peaked at over two hours at one point on day one of the beta, dropped to around 80-90 minutes, and are now typically under five minutes. Blizzard may have performed stress tests on the first day of the beta, as the improvements have been made quickly.

There are certainly more than four issues that need to be fixed in Diablo 4 Early Access Beta. There are balance issues, as understood by barbarians fighting dungeon bosses, and also a lot of graphical bugs. For the most part though, the Diablo 4 beta version can work just fine at times. It’s a great taste of the ARPG and is undoubtedly building hype for the full release of Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 launches June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
