Another group of green-clad celebrities can be seen on TV, when the fourth season of “Kompani Lauritzen” is currently rolling across Norwegian screens.
– Vulnerable situation
The military reality quickly became a viewer success when it premiered in 2020, and season four is no exception with sky-high numbers at the season premiere.
As before, the company aspirants are at Setnesmoen camp in Åndalsnes during the recruitment period, according to what Dagbladet is informed, there is absolutely no “dear mother” – even when the cameras are turned off.
– Quite real
Participants have previously said that the commander continues his strict regime when the cameras are not rolling, and that it went on 24 hours a day.
Among the participants, there must also have been talk that this was a requirement from the commander of TV 2 in order for them to be part of the reality series – that they should be in the job they also normally have, even when the cameras were not present.
TV profile Grunde Myhrer (27), one of this year’s participants, could also confirm this in a TikTok video made with training profile Kasper Kvello.
– It’s completely real. It’s not like we chat with the commander afterwards, Myhrer can be heard saying in the video.
Was surprised by the cameras
Another of this year’s participants, actor and writer Iben Akerlie (35), has vented her frustration about the cameras to Dagbladet, which she claims always was present.
– From the time you got up until you went to bed! I felt like we were being filmed constantly. They took part in our days off too, even though we never really had a day off, Akerlie said.
The 35-year-old could also admit that the cameras became something she struggled a lot with in the end, as she was not prepared for exactly how much would actually be filmed.
– There was a lot I was afraid of, but I had not imagined that this would be a particularly big problem. But then it turned out that I became very, very uncomfortable with it. It took a long time to accept, really. Then get used to it. It was so invasive.
Got shut up by TV 2
Tougher in reality
Participant in season three, Espen PA Lervaag (45), has previously told Dagbladet that the participation was much tougher than it seemed on the screen.
– I, who have done so much TV, was amazed that there were no breaks – ever. At least I imagined there would be a catering table there with some coffee and nuts. But it wasn’t, Lervaag said, adding:
– That’s what I find most disappointing when I see it on TV, and. Those watching really don’t know how far we’ve come to get to where we are. I remember we were carrying a log. We wore it for hours, but ended up on screen for a minute or so, he continued.
Cut down sharply
That it is tougher in reality than it looks on TV is perhaps not so surprising. According to TV 2’s press manager, Jan Petter Dahl, around 80 hours of footage is filmed on each shooting day. Of these, only 66 minutes are included in the episodes that are shown on TV.
Had to interrupt recording after doctor’s notice
– This means that there are many stories and events that we never have time to tell. In addition, there is a lot about what happens that is not filmed, Dahl explains to Dagbladet.
In addition, everyone in the camera crew wears military clothing to make the experience as realistic as possible for the participants.
Have to share shower
At Setnesmoen camp, there is no discrimination, and the aspirants therefore had to settle for sharing a shower with their fellow participants.
– The shower in “Kompani Lauritzen” is quite fun. We only had curtains between us – the boys and the girls. Nasty shower curtains, and four in a row! It was always great when, for example, Ruben showered, because then there was singing in the shower, no matter what, Tone Damli (34), who took part in season three, told Dagbladet.
Influencer Emilie Voe Nereng (27) from the same season also saw no problem in sharing the shower with the boys.
– No, I loved it! There were such wonderful acoustics in that room, and with those acoustics and Ruben singing – it was absolutely beautiful to listen to. I still miss that.
