Berlin. The Greens want to promote heat pumps more in the future than before. “Of course, more money is needed for this,” Greens boss Ricarda Lang told the news portal T-Online.
“We’re going to spend billions here, especially to support the people who depend on it.” It needs a socially graded promotion. “If you have less, you have to get more.” The Green leader did not specify how much money it would take.
That will be discussed in the coalition, said Lang. However, she was optimistic that the FDP would take part, although the liberals had recently sharply criticized the heating plans. “Since the coalition has agreed on this path, I am sure that we will also agree to take everyone with us,” said Lang. “Especially those with a small budget.”
According to plans by Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens), the money for the heat pump subsidy should not come directly from the federal budget, but from an existing special fund: the Climate and Transformation Fund (KTF). The so-called federal funding for efficient buildings has already been financed through the KTF.
