MORELIA, Mich., March 17, 2023.- The Ministry of the Interior talks with the representatives of the Community Council of San Matías el Grande to avoid the seizure of roads, in the east of the entity; councils should not withdraw public services from the original self-governing towns.
“We call on the town halls because the fact that self-government councils are being held does not mean that the right to water can be dispensed with,” declared Juan Manzo, director of the Interior.
In response to the Council’s complaint against José Luis Téllez, mayor of Hidalgo, he called for respect for the basic rights of citizens.
“In this sense, we call for the rights of citizens not to be attacked, whether they are self-governing or not,” said the director.
The self-government Council of San Matías el Grande denounced before the State Human Rights Commission that its budget, estimated at 17 million pesos, has not been delivered, in addition to the fact that all basic services were withdrawn.
In this regard, the Government of Hidalgo has not made any pronouncement, but it is expected that at the beginning of next week the actions of the community members will be radicalized, in case the water, security and health services are not restored.
