The third Tuesday of the month, Tuesday March 21, 2023, there is an Alzheimer Café Bollenstreek in the main hall of Bloemswaard, Garbialaan 3, 2181 LA Hillegom, from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Walk-in from 19:00. Admission is always free including coffee and tea.

Pre-registration is allowed, but not required. The following applies: full is full. Register preferably by email: [email protected] and otherwise WhatsApp or leave a message by phone: 06 23 28 12 33. You are cordially invited by the Alzheimer Café Bollenstreek working group (WelzijnsKompas, Marente, Hozo, Zorgbalans, Alzheimer Nederland Zuid-Holland Noord).

The topic of conversation this time is: What happens in / with your brain. A diagnosis of dementia is not made lightly. Physically something happens in your brain, but your behavior and your physical functioning can also change. And that does something emotionally to you and the people around you.

This evening we will talk to a Marente psychologist, Edith de Jong. She talks about the brain disease dementia and its consequences for daily functioning. She will respond to questions from the audience.

The Alzheimer Café Bollenstreek is a monthly meeting for people with a form of dementia, their loved ones and other interested parties. A great meeting place for tips and information about (dealing with) dementia. Where you get answers to questions, exchange experiences with fellow sufferers and have room for social contact. The division of the evenings is always the same: half an hour walk-in, half an hour interview with an expert, half an hour break, half an hour asking questions, half an hour chatting. That way everyone can go home with new information and ideas afterwards.

For further questions about this press release, you can always contact me.

Sincerely,

Hub van Kerkhof
