“Dengue Outbreak in Two High Village”

PALANGKA RAYA – The intensity of the rain is quite high, people must be aware of the potential for various kinds of diseases. One thing that must be considered is the breeding of the Aedes aegypty mosquito which triggers dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue fever (DD).

Head of the Palangka Raya City Health Service, Dr. Andjar Hari Purnomo said, in the city of Cantik, from January to March there were 42 cases of DHF and 56 DD that attacked residents. Of that number, the most cases were found in Palangka and Langkai Villages.

“From the existing health center data, from last January, it was found that there were 56 people affected by DD and 42 people with DHF. The existence of these cases was indeed related to high rainfall and environmental cleanliness so that the disease appeared,” said Andjar Hari Purnomo.

In order to ward off these two diseases, Andjar appealed to residents during the rainy season not to throw plastic waste carelessly such as mineral water bottles, especially plastic containers that can hold rainwater. open.

“In addition, residents are also advised to drain water reservoirs, bathtubs, at least once a week, by sprinkling abate on water reservoirs that are difficult to drain. Abate can be obtained at the health center for free,” he added.

If there are residents who have a fever of 2-7 days, they should immediately go to the health service, so they can prevent and detect DHF early so they can get medical help. Always monitor and eradicate larvae in each other’s homes, don’t let the larvae hatch into adult mosquitoes.

“The most important thing is to maintain personal and environmental hygiene, consume balanced nutrition, live a clean and healthy life. We hope that this case will not continue to increase, so residents can take prevention earlier,” he said. (en/ram/ko)
