Doha: Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the star who responded with the bat whenever there was criticism. So there is no point in criticizing Kohli for not finding runs, says former Lankan player Izuru Udana. Both were teammates at Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Udana is currently playing in Legends League Cricket.
‘No one can remain perfect for long. Virat Kohli is a legend. We all know that. Everyone will face failure at some point in their career. But Kohli is still the best player. Meeting Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the RCB dressing room was a great experience. ABD is my hero. It was a great experience to play with them. The experience of meeting Kohli for the first time in the RCB dressing room was wonderful,” Udana said. Udana played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 IPL season. The absence of pacer Jasprit Bumrah has upset the balance of the Indian team. Izuru Udana also said that Bumrah’s absence is evident in the team.
Kohli responded to critics by scoring a century in the Asia Cup at a time when his place in the Twenty20 squad was a big question mark. After this, he became the highest run-getter in the Twenty20 World Cup. Kohli scored 296 runs in the World Cup. After that, the ODI centuries were also born in Kohli’s bat. He scored a century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against the Aussies in Ahmedabad. Kohli recently completed 25000 runs and 75 centuries in international cricket. The player is currently playing in the ODI series against Australia.
