Amritpal Singh, the head of the pro-Khalistani group ‘Waris Punjab De’, has reportedly gone untraceable as police launch a crackdown against him and his aides. Around 100 police cars are said to be chasing Singh, while six of his associates have been detained. Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in Punjab as the operations continue. Singh’s supporters have alleged that he is being targeted because of his pro-Khalistani views. The police, however, have not yet commented on the situation. The case comes amid rising tensions between the Indian government and Sikh activists in the country.
