The Oslo police checked 189 for weapons
The police in Oslo checked a total of 189 people at Tøyen subway station on Friday evening. No weapons were found, the police said.
The visit is part of the Oslo police’s new strategy to deal with the many stabbings and shootings in the city.
The control was carried out pursuant to the Police Act in what the police believe is a gentle and considerate manner.
All those who were checked received a receipt. According to the police, they received several comments from the public along the way that this was a good measure.
