On Friday, there was a crisis meeting between the charger manufacturer Easee and the bank DNB. The Easee boss says he believes they will soon find a solution.
After the DNB meeting, Easee CEO Jonas Helmikstøl was optimistic.
– We are quite sure that we have a solution with the bank in the short term, he adds Stavanger Aftenblad.
The company is now looking for fresh capital in the order of NOK 500 million to NOK 1 billion.
The Norwegian company, which produces electric car chargers, has found itself in a very difficult situation after the Swedish Safety Authority has notified that it may be banned from selling the product.
The reason is that they believe the electric car chargers from Easee do not satisfy a number of EU requirements.
Easee does not agree with this, but after the news became known, it has had major financial consequences for the company, which has announced layoffs for 100 of the total of 500 employees.
– Unfortunately, I believe that it will soon take around six months before we are “back on track”, says Helmikstøl.
