The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, world news agencies report.
The head of state of Russia is accused of war crimes in Ukraine.
The reasons of the court also state that Putin is responsible for the illegal deportation of Ukrainian citizens, including children.
There is also an arrest warrant for Maria Lvova-Belova, who is the Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation from 2021.
Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations of atrocities by Russian forces during its more than year-long invasion of neighboring Ukraine.
