The first results of the autopsy have appeared, according to sources, in the case of Valeriu, the 28-year-old from Vatra Dornei, who died suspiciously immediately after anesthesia, when he was preparing for a trivial elbow operation.

According to the coroners, the man would have died as a result of a cardio-respiratory arrest caused by acute pulmonary edema and left ventricular hypertrophy. The results are preliminary and it is not yet known if there is a link between the anesthesia and the death of the young man, who was known to have a healthy lifestyle.
A suspicious death
In the evening of March 9, during a football match with friends, Valeriu fell and fractured his elbow. On Monday, he was admitted to the Vatra Dornei hospital. For two days, he did pre-operative and pre-anesthetic analyses. Everything would have turned out fine, say the doctors. And on Wednesday morning, the young man entered the operating room. Immediately after general anesthesia, his heart stopped.
The Suceava police started investigations in this case, the criminal file for “manslaughter” being under the supervision of the Vatra Dornei Prosecutor’s Office. According to the cited source, the director of the Municipal Hospital was contacted by phone, but he refused to answer, citing the managerial position, and the subordinates said that they could not declare anything until the results of the necropsy were displayed on March 16, 2023.
