Shanghai (China), March 16 (EFECOM).- The Taiwanese technology company Hon Hai (Foxconn), an assembler of multiple products for the American Apple, announced that its net profit reached 141.5 billion Taiwan dollars (4.604 million dollars, 4.370 million euros), which represents an interannual increase of 2%.
In a statement published last night, the company highlighted that its turnover reached all-time highs in 2022, rising 11% to 6.63 trillion Taiwan dollars (215,540 million dollars, 204,708 million euros).
However, in the last quarter of the year, its profits fell 10% year-on-year and were, according to Bloomberg, below analysts’ forecasts.
Most of that period was hampered by the 56-day lockdown imposed at the company’s factory in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, the largest iPhone factory in the Asian country, a situation that initially caused numerous employees to flee and later, confrontations of his substitutes with the Police on account of the non-payment of the bonuses that Foxconn had promised them.
Looking ahead to 2023, the group maintains its “neutral and relatively flat” forecasts due to the “increasing uncertainty” about the global economic situation.
