Las Vegas (dpa) – The Stuttgart NFL professional Jakob Johnson has agreed on a new contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“Nothing has been signed yet, so far we have only reached an agreement,” said the 28-year-old of the German Press Agency. “From what I’ve heard from my agent, it’s just a formality now. The team will be in touch when all the paperwork is ready.”
Johnson has a good chance of his fifth season in the National Football League. The prerequisite for this is that he ultimately makes it into the squad of active players, which consists of 53 professionals. The first three years he played for the New England Patriots, last season he was already active for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Swabian, who plays fullback, earned his place in the NFL through a support program for international talent.
