The arrest of a heavily armed teenager at a train station in the French capital, Paris, has revealed a juvenile gang that specializes in carrying out contract killings and assassinations across the country, according to the newspaper “The Times” British.
The arrest of that teenager came in conjunction with the arrest of nine other teenagers in the suburbs of Paris, the Brittany region in eastern France, and the cities of Nice and Nimes in the south.
The suspects were charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, belonging to an organized gang, and possession of weapons and military ammunition.
These teenagers live in the poor suburbs that surround French cities, and some of them have criminal records unrelated to murder.
This penetration came during a routine check last June by a police officer at the “Garo-Montparnasse” station for trains in Paris.
The officer had suspected a teenager who appeared troubled and worried while carrying a large suitcase. After the search, it was found that the suspect, “Nasser A”, was in possession of a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a 9 mm pistol, and quantities of ammunition.
The teenager, who had a criminal record for drug offenses, said he was just a courier with orders to deliver the weapons to an address he had not yet been informed of.
An examination of the phone of the 19-year-old suspect led to the conclusion that he was part of a gang planning a “strike” in Paris but they were unable to locate the target.
On July 18, two gunmen opened fire at a shisha café in east-central Paris, killing a man named Mamadou T (38 years old) and wounding four others.
While a gunman managed to escape, the cafe patrons managed to control the other 16-year-old attacker and hand him over to the police.
During the investigation, investigators found links between the boy who participated in the attack on the café and the teenager who was arrested at the train station.
The police concluded that the murder was not a settling of scores between rival gangs, but rather a murder carried out by a criminal network that receives money in return for committing this type of crime.
The police said that the gang was divided into killers, scouts and couriers who delivered weapons.
Later, the law enforcement authorities were able to arrest the other teenager who participated in the attack on the bar, after he was preparing to carry out another operation in the city of Lyon, 470 km from Paris.
And the French newspaper “Le Parisien” stated that the police still do not know how “the suspects got to know each other, or how they came up with the idea of establishing the assassination squad and how many crimes they committed.”
