Kahrimani explanations for the nodes

The Regional Governor of Epirus, Mr. Alexandros Kahrimanis, at today’s press conference, gave answers about the construction project of junctions etc. at the Episcopal Church on the Ioannina-Artis National Road and gave an update on the developments regarding the operation of the Waste Transfer Stations.

particularly:

The Regional Governor initially stated that the specific project, as well as the projects of the junctions in Valanidorachi – Loutsa (on the E.O. Preveza-Igoumenitsa), Lapsista (on the E.O. Ioannina-Konitsa) and the Pigadia-Gefyra Plaka section , have joined the Recovery Fund, following an invitation issued by the Ministry of the Interior with a total budget of 24 million euros.

The Regional Governor gave detailed information about the project: “construction of a safe and modern level roundabout on E.O. Ioannina-Artas (Episcopal position)”, for which the Financial Committee at its meeting yesterday nominated its temporary contractor.“It’s not just a hub,” he emphasized, explaining that since the branching of E.O. with Egnatia up to the junction of the Ionian Road, the specifications have been defined since 2007, in which junctions and width of the roadway are provided.

“We are intervening – said the Regional Governor – in a length of 1.5 kilometers. We also have a 2.5 km side road network that leads to the National Highway, from the Vrelli Museum, the communities of Episkopiko and Bizanio. An underground passage, retaining walls, electric lighting, etc. are also planned. All this makes up a large road, which with its dimensions, also brings out the amount of the study”.

The Regional Governor also added that the junctions in Valanidorachi-Loutsa have been studied with specifications adapted to the future widening of the National Road. Finally, he emphasized that all the studies have been prepared, the M.P.E. have been consulted, so that the AEPOs can then be issued.

The test operation of the SMAs

The Regional Governor, referring to the operation of the Waste Transfer Stations, emphasized that their trial operation must be started immediately, as agreed in the recent meetings and teleconferences. As he said, the Region, Municipalities and FoDSA are working together for this purpose, but delays seem to arise from the contractor company. According to the declaration – said Mr. Alex, Kahrimanis – it is the responsibility of the supplier company that the fixed equipment is insured and in order for six months after the test operation of the SMAs.

“This thing – he continued – we discussed it before Christmas, when we were invited to the Ministry of Development in the presence of G.G. of the Ministry of Environment and we discussed it in continuous teleconferences. I cannot understand why the supplier company, which participated in a tender with difficult terms, starts by telling us that it will show us the equipment for a month.”

THE The Regional Governor stated that the maintenance of the mobile equipment (containers and trucks) was undertaken by the Region of Epirus, while the company’s request to proceed with the payment after the successful completion of the six-month trial operation of each SMA was accepted.

“We here will not discount them. The entire path we have taken on the matter of waste as the Region of Epirus, has been demonstrated in practice and by the discussion held at the Ministry, that we have always been in the right direction, either in the operation of landfills, or in the issues concerning the residue, or in the issues that concern the operation of the SMAs. So far the company is running into obstacles. I am patient but if the SMAs do not start working immediatelythe file will go to the competent prosecutors”concluded.
