Rains and storms today – The forecast for Patras

In updating the emergency bulletin for the deterioration of the weather, the EMY proceeded with clouds with rain and storms being the main features today Thursday 16/03/2023, in most of the country.

In Patras, according to the forecast, it will be cloudy throughout the day, while there is a chance of rain. The temperature will reach 16 degrees and the winds will blow at a speed of up to 3 Beaufort.

Humidity will exceed 80%.

Analytically:

On Thursday, March 16, rain and local storms are expected in most of the country. Storms locally in parts of the Aegean are likely to be strong, while they are likely to be accompanied by small hail. Snowfall is expected in mountainous parts of the mainland and locally even in semi-mountainous parts of the northern country. In the night and early morning hours there will be local frost in the central and northern continental regions.

The temperature will vary in Western Macedonia from -6 to 9 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Northern Greece from -2 to 15 degrees Celsius, in Epirus from -4 to 15 degrees Celsius, in the Ionian Islands from 7 to 14-15 degrees Celsius, in the rest Western Greece from 2 to 15-16 degrees Celsius, in Thessaly from -5 to 14 degrees Celsius, in the rest of the mainland from 1 to 16 degrees Celsius, and in the Aegean islands and Crete from 4 to 16 degrees Celsius.

The winds in the Ionian and Northern Aegean will blow from northwesterly directions with intensities up to 6-7 Beaufort, while in the Central and South Aegean initially westerly with intensities up to 4-5 Beaufort and gradually northerly with intensities up to 5-6 Beaufort.

THE FORECAST IN DETAILS

According to the EMY, the emergency notice applies as follows:

A. Today Thursday (16-03-2023)
a) until noon on the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean.
b) from midday at intervals in the Cyclades and Crete.
c) in the Dodecanese in the early morning and again in the afternoon.
d) from the afternoon in eastern Thessaly, the Sporades and Evia.

B. On Friday (17-03-2023)
a) in Crete where the phenomena will weaken on Saturday morning (18-03-2023).
b) until noon in Evia and the Cyclades.
c) until the afternoon in the Dodecanese.
