Public guided tour for children and families through the SchifffahrtMuseum for families with children aged 6 and over

Large hamster wheels at the Düsseldorf Rhine port — that was 200 years ago. Visitors to the SchifffahrtMuseum, Burgplatz 30, can find out why they were there and how work and technology at the port have changed in a public children’s and family tour on Sunday, March 19, at 3 p.m.

For centuries, ships were unloaded on the banks of the old town in Düsseldorf. A lot was too heavy to be shouldered by the “Rheincadets”, so there was the old crane. What was his big wheel for and who ran around in it? In this tour of the exhibition, the history of technology is explained in a playful way using the example of the old Rhine cranes and the history of the Düsseldorf port is presented.

This offer is suitable for families with children aged 6 and over.
