The surname Mukiele is well known in the football world. Nordi Mukiele (25) plays with Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi in the star ensemble Paris Saint-Germain, now his younger brother Norvin (22) has docked with the Hessen League club SV Neuhof.
After 61 minutes, Norvin Mukiele was finally allowed to play. The Frenchman came on as a substitute in SV Neuhof’s 1-0 win in the Hessen League against SV Unter-Flockenbach. As a tall player – Mukiele is 1.91 meters tall – he was immediately a target player at the top. With him, the SVN managed the second win in a row and the jump to the relegation place, although the 22-year-old didn’t have too much influence. Mukiele was noted that his last competitive game was ten months ago. Especially in stoppage time when he missed the goal from five yards out. “I still can’t believe it,” he says two days after the game to add, “that I have to forget that scene so quickly. It’s important to look ahead. The forward position is actually easy because you are supposed to score goals. But that is exactly what makes it so complicated.”
PSG star Mukiele’s brother is now playing in East Hesse
Mukiele came to SV Neuhof after coach Alexander Bär discovered him during a trial at Eintracht Frankfurt. A contract with the SGE shouldn’t work out, he now feels in good hands in the Kali community. It’s a “great feeling” to be able to play in the team. For Norvin Mukiele, the most important thing is convincing with performances and thus being able to contribute to staying up in the league. Mainly in the form of goals. “But that’s not all that counts. I want to perform well. This includes the offensive as well as the defensive. Every time I put the jersey on, I want to give 100 percent for the team,” says Mukiele combatively. The fact that he has left his familiar environment – the family lives in Paris – is not a problem for the 22-year-old. It was similar a few years ago when he moved to Italy to join the U19s from Torino FC.
Mbappé, Messi, Mukiele: Nah dran an den Stars
“There are a lot of sacrifices to be made in football. This also includes a separation from the family. I’m aware of that, especially since it was my wish to come to Germany. In addition, my brother was able to get to know the country and proved himself here,” says Norvin Mukiele. His older brother Nordi played for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig from 2018 to 2022, won the DFB Cup with the Saxons last summer and then joined Paris Saint-Germain. At PSG, the oldest of the Mukiele brothers – alongside Nordi and Norvin, Nordan is the chick of the trio at 17 and plays at Stade Rennes – is on the pitch every day with big stars like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. Norvin has a very good relationship with his big brother, so he was already close to players like Messi and Mbappé.
Mukiele brothers: “One day we will play against each other”
It is obvious that his brother Nordi is the role model for Norvin Mukiele. The 22-year-old looks up to the PSG star. “I’m incredibly proud of him and the man he’s become. His career and development is far from over. He will do great things in the future. I can only learn from him and be inspired,” says the SV Neuhof striker, who has a contract until the end of the season. Accordingly, he will focus on the goals with the SVN in the coming months. The Hessenliga should not be the end of the line for him. Mukiele would like to reach the “highest level” in Germany and then he hopes that his biggest dream will come true. What is that? “One day I want to play against my brothers. Like when we were young and just kicked.”
