Sahitya Akademi Sahityotsav 2023: Several programs were organized on the fourth day of the six-day literary festival organized by Sahitya Akademi. The main attraction of these programs was the cultural programme. In the cultural programme, the qawwalis of Nizami Brothers forced the audience to dance till late evening.
Nizami brothers are prominently discussed in Qawwali. The Nizami brothers belong to the Secunderabad Gharana. The Nizami brothers are the first Indian artists to have performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Before Qawwali, programs were organized on various topics in the literary festival. The main event of the literary festival was the National Seminar on ‘Memories of Epics, Indian Freedom Movement and Nation Building’. The seminar was inaugurated by Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, eminent Hindi writer and former president of Sahitya Akademi. Eminent social theorist and critic Ashish Nandy, Sahitya Akademi President Madhav Kaushik and Vice President Kumud Sharma also expressed their views in the seminar.

On this occasion, Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari said that both our epics Ramayana and Mahabharata also contain the inspirational elements of our freedom. While Mahatma Gandhi takes inspiration from Tulsi’s Ramcharit Manas, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai and Vipinchandra Pal have been taking inspiration from Geeta.

Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari said that Satyagraha and Swaraj which were the biggest weapons of Gandhiji. They reach him only till Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas.
Eminent critic Ashish Nandy said that the inner sensibility of the society is preserved only in our epics. Our epics give us an opportunity to think with more diversity towards life.
Sahitya Akademi President Madhav Kaushik said that our ethnic memories are preserved in these two epics. Vice President of Sahitya Akademi, Kumud Sharma said that India’s internality resides in these two epics.

In another programme, the discussion on drama writing was inaugurated by eminent actor Mohan Agashe. Mohan Agashe said that writing a play and presenting it are two different things. Drawing a blueprint of the entire journey of words, he said that now words remain with us continuously and someone else determines how much and how much we have to relate to them.

Mohan Agashe said that balance of all sense organs is necessary to write well, see well and present well. In other sessions of this discussion, Dayaprakash Sinha and T.M. Abraham, Chandan Sen, K.Y. Narayanswamy, Abhiram Bhadkamkar, Dewan Singh Bajeli, D. Srinivas presented their views.
In other programmes, All India Kavi Sammelan was also organized on the theme One Earth, One Family, One Future. The Kavi Sammilan was presided over by eminent Hindi poet and scholar Leeladhar Jagudi. The chief guest was famous Sanskrit poet Rajendra Mishra. Renowned lyricist Dr. Om Nischal enthralled the audience with his poems at Kavi Sammelan. Dr. Om Nischal got a lot of applause by presenting the song-

In Kavi Sammelan, Karbi Deka Hazarika in Assamese, Shivashish Mukhopadhyay in Bengali, Naseeb Singh Manhas in Dogri, Ashwini Kumar in English, Harish Mangalam in Gujarati and L. Hanumatiah recited poetry in Kannada language.
