Attempts to defraud bank customers’ financial data are frequent and quite successful. Since the beginning of last year, bank customers have been defrauded of almost 14 million euros, according to the data of the Financial Industry Association. Businesswoman Sabīne also became a victim of such fraudsters last year, when fraudsters transferred less than 19 thousand euros from the bank account of a company owned by her in 139 transactions at the end of the summer.
The entrepreneur had talks with both the bank and she turned to the State Police because she hoped that they would be able to reveal who made these transactions with her company’s credit card data. It was concluded that most of the transactions were made in gambling places. It was also concluded that two different devices, to which the credit card data of Sabine’s company were added, were used in two different countries on the same day, with a small time difference.
