Exercises to get rid of constipation in Ramadan

1- Running

Running exercise often helps stimulate bowel movements, as constipation may be caused by ischemia, or a lack of blood supply to the large intestine. Such exercises improve healthy blood flow to the intestines to improve long-term digestive health.

The reason running is so effective in helping relieve constipation is due to the secretion of specialized hormones and digestive enzymes in the digestive tract that may increase bowel movement.

For those who suffer from constipation, running at a slower pace than usual race pace can help promote bowel regularity, and it is recommended to start with slow, short steps and a low-intensity pace.

2- Yoga

Yoga is an effective exercise to combat constipation, because it affects the blood flow to the intestines positively, and this exercise increases the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, in order to work on relaxation and healthy digestion.

Research suggests that yoga asanas may be particularly helpful in relieving constipation in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, as this gastrointestinal condition is highly associated with stress, anxiety, and depression.

3- Pelvic exercises

It is known that those people who suffer from weak pelvic muscles, are more at risk of constipation.

There is a set of exercises that help to strengthen the pelvic muscles, which comes on top of the squatting exercise, and depends on taking a squatting position, provided that the upper body is kept straight, and the knee and ankle are in an upright position, while looking forward, and bending the knees at an angle of 90 score, and repeat the exercise.
