First in the Premier League, Chelsea Invites Iftar Together at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea made a special program to welcome the moon Ramadan which will come. The Blues held an iftar together at Stamford Bridge.

On its official website, Chelsea will hold an iftar or iftar at Stamford Bridge on the 26th of March. The agenda was carried out to welcome Ramadan, which is expected to begin on March 22-23.

Chelsea will invite Muslims, from supporters to school children, to break their fast together at its stadium. The Blues are the first team in the Premier League to hold an event like this.

To hold this iftar event, Chelsea is collaborating with the Ramadan Tent Project, a charity set up to reach the Muslim community and teach the understanding of Ramadan.

“Over the last decade, the Ramadan Tent Project has connected and brought together more than half a million people from all backgrounds through the annual Ramadan Festival and the Joint Iftar initiative is a mainstay,” said Ramadan Tent Project CEO, Omar Salha.

“We are honored to be able to organize a Joint Iftar to Stamford Bridge, in celebration of our 10 year anniversary, which is in line with our 2023 theme of ‘Ownership’, and to work with Chelsea FC who have encouraged inclusivity in football. Such is the Pride of London ” will be the first Premier League club in history to host a Joint Iftar event.”

Football and Ramadan bringing people together through shared experiences and we are thrilled to share this important celebration with football fans of all backgrounds, representing communities.”

Chelsea, through the Chelsea Foundation, is making this iftar as part of its No To Hate campaign, which is a club-wide program of equality, diversity and inclusion. Promoting religious tolerance is one of No To Hate’s main focus areas.

“I am delighted to announce our Joint Iftar program with the Ramadan Tent Project and we are extremely proud to be the first Premier League club to do so. Getting to know Ramadan and our Muslim community is an important aspect of our work in promoting religious tolerance and I look forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday March 26,” said Simon Taylor, head of the Chelsea Foundation.

Chelsea itself has many Muslim players in its squad. There are Ngolo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech, Wesley Fofana, Edouard Mendy and Dennis Zakaria.
