Another liberal who jumps to the defense of MEP Rareș Bogdan is Robert Sighiartău who said, on Monday evening in the Antena 3 show, that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu must answer for the statements made, in front of the National Political Bureau. Sighiartău said that he was looking at it from a “strategic” point of view and that “it is not pleasant to see that a technocrat minister attacks a party colleague, the first vice-president of the PNL, especially since the PNL is the first party in government with prime minister and president”.
When asked if Aurescu should be dismissed, Sighiartău (who also holds a political position, being vice-president of Foreign Affairs), avoided a direct answer, contenting himself with saying that he had said on other occasions that all ministers should be evaluated in the BPN .
Regarding Aurescu, Sighiartău emphasized that it is necessary to convene the BPN as soon as possible and to take measures.
“You can’t make Rareș Bogdan a Russophile it’s okay (…) Aurescu must appear before the BPN and we should discuss the matter with him and take measures against him. We must have a clear discussion…”, said Sighiartău.
