According to De Mol, the subject of menopause is ‘fortunately’ increasingly coming out of the taboo, but that does not apply to hormone therapy. The presenter herself also suffers from hormonal complaints. That started after she stopped taking the pill. ‘No sweat attacks, but strange heart palpitations and really no night in which I could sleep uninterrupted for about six hours. And the bladder infections, hair loss and chronic fatigue’, she sums up her complaints.
Thanks to an estrogen gel in combination with progesterone, most of the discomforts disappeared. ‘I feel fine, sleep a lot better because of the progesterone (although there have been circumstances that unfortunately still kept me from sleeping) and my hair, skin, bladder and heart are shining, peeing and beating as usual’.
