Manchester –
One of the players was the target of racist attacks after the game Manchester United vs Southampton. Who’s he?
Launching ESPN, that player is Kyle Walker-Peters, Southampton defender. His club confirmed that the 25-year-old player had been the target of racist attacks on social media.
In his statement, Southampton regretted that there had been no significant change in this incident. This is because Kyle Walker-Peters was also a victim of a similar attack two years ago.
“In February 2021 the club made a statement that one of our young players was subjected to a disgusting racial attack following the game against Manchester United,” Southampton wrote.
“More than two years ago, we are in the same situation: sickened and utterly disillusioned by online behavior that denigrates itself for insulting players on the basis of their skin color.”
“What’s also frustrating is that there has been no meaningful action in the last two years on social media that has allowed hatred to breed and fester,” Southampton said.
The MU vs Southampton match itself ended in a draw without a winner. Both teams ended the match with a score of 0-0.
