Chelsea chief Todd Boehly has picked up the slack and insiders are recommending a ‘dream’ signing. – In question

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly could be ready to use the same transfer tactic the Blues have adopted in the previous two windows in order to complete a potentially game-changing signing. Since Boehly and his teammates took over at Stamford Bridge last year, over £600m has been spent on new players and the UK transfer record has also been broken.

Boehly splashed out £105m to bring Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea on transfer deadline day in January, but the Argentine began to repay that expense by providing an assist to Kai Havertz in the 3-1 win Blues on Leicester on Saturday. Despite Boehly’s huge investment since arriving in west London, many feel another striker is needed to complete Graham Potter’s squad.

Chelsea could get a high-caliber striker this summer and have been linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian spearheads Luciano Spalletti’s attack that took the Napoli side to an 18-point lead at the top of Serie A, thanks in part to the 24-year-old striker’s 19 goals in 21 league starts.

He could be transferred this summer for a potential fee of £100million, which seems to be of interest to the Chelsea bosses. Journalist Simon Phillips has explained that club insiders are keen to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge with a view to next season. “Osimhen is valued by Chelsea and many within the club see him as the dream striker,” he told Get Football News Italy. “But he wouldn’t be cheap and Chelsea are looking at other options. Osimhen will generate a lot of interest”.

Chelsea won’t be the only club to follow Osimhen, in a quest that could recall the previous transfer strategy under Boehly. Manchester United, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are among the teams hoping to land the Nigerian striker this summer, but the Blues are hoping to hijack all deals in order to secure Osimhen.

In January, Arsenal were seen as heavy favorites to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, but Chelsea made a colossal £89.5million bid to steal the Ukrainian from under the Gunners’ noses. Earlier in the window, Mikel Arteta’s side and United were in talks to loan Joao Felix, but Chelsea moved ahead of both clubs to sign the Portuguese striker.

Beating clubs like United and Spurs would bring to mind the diversions of Mudryk and Felix, a tactic Boehly clearly prefers and Osimhen has already opened the door to a potential Premier League move.

“I think that’s the ambition of all players,” Osimhen said earlier this month when asked if it was possible to join a Premier League club.

“And who knows, maybe one day. So far, I can assure you, that hasn’t even crossed my mind. It would distract me from what has been a great season. There is only Naples. That’s all. »
