An intimate performance… in front of tens of millions of viewers. If on the occasion of this 95ᵉ Oscars ceremony, the film Everything Everywhere All at Once won seven statuettes – an expected success – the arrival of Lady Gaga was a total surprise.
Nominated in the category of “Best Original Song” for Hold My HandIn Top Gun: Maverick, the singer went on stage to perform, in a remixed composition, her title. Filmed in close-up and almost without make-up, the singer was not announced on the poster of this ceremony presented by the American host star Jimmy Kimmel.
“It’s a song that’s very personal to me. I think we all need each other. We need a lot of love to get through this life. We all need heroes…in places where we least expect them. Can you realize that you can be your own hero”, she launched before embarking on her interpretation with finesse and restraint on the stage of the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
